Distribution is Kenya (South of the Tana river) and north-eastern Tanzania. The Tana river marks the physical boundary between the Beisa and Fringed Eared Oryx. Very pale beige coat with brown markings on neck. Dark patch between the horns and running down the middle of the muzzle. Ears are decorated with a long black haired fringe at the tip. Prefers open dry landscape as well as open grassveld in semi desert areas and open savanna.Both sexes have horns. The female horns are longer and more slender, the male is heavier than the female.They can go for days without drinking and may be encountered very far from water.
