Very little is known on the ecology of the species, and only some information on habitat and diet is available. The white-bellied duiker ranges in Cameroon , C.A.R., Congo , Eq. Guinea , Gabon and former Zaire (Wilson & Reeder, 1993), while it is likely to be exterminated in Uganda (East, 1996). Its distribution map was first obtained from Haltenorth & Diller (1980); the southern range limit was corrected to match the Zaire River, while boundaries for Cameroon, Congo and former Zaire were refined using country maps in East (1990), as indicated by Dr. R. East (23 June '97) Categorical-discrete (CD) distribution model Primary or secondary forest are contradictorily indicated as preferred habitat. Also cited for gallery forest (East, 1990; Heymans & Lejoly, 1981; Stuart & Stuart, 1997; Haltenorth & Diller, 1980).
