The geographic range of this duiker extends discontinuously along south Somalia , east Kenya , east andsouth Tanzania , and sightings have also been reported for Ethiopia (Yalden et al., 1996). Its reported presence in north Malawi and east Zambia (Wilson & Reeder, 1993) has not been taken into account here, since not confirmed by the IUCN/SSC Action Plan (East, 1996). The Harvey’s red duiker distribution map was obtained from East (1988), by joining three country maps (Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania) and adding the Bale Mts. National Park boundaries in Ethiopia as possible range, as suggested by Dr. R. East (23 June '97)
