IUCN threat category Vulnerable (VU: criteria C1). The silver dik-dik is the smallest of the world's dikdiks, measuring just over a foot high. Endemic to East Somalia , this dik-dik is known to occur only along the Obbia littoral (Wilson & Reeder, 1993; East, 1996). Its distribution map was obtained from the Somali country map in East (1988) and revised by Dr. R. East ( 23 June '97 ), who suggested marking the whole range in Fig as "possible" presence. Categorical-discrete (CD) distribution model The species inhabits thickets and evergreen scrub (East, 1988; Kingdon, 1997).
