Restricted to the Southern African subregion, the grey rhebok occurs only from Cape Province to Natal and Transvaal in South Africa, in Les otho and Swaziland (Wilson & Reeder, 1993), while it has been exterminated in Botswana (East, 1996). A distribution map was obtained from Skinner & Smithers (1990), then refined following the country maps in East (1989) as indicated by Dr. R East (23 June '97) Categorical-discrete (CD) distribution model The species prefers open grassland on plateaux and mountain slopes. Water bound(East, 1989; Kingdon, 1997; Marais et al., 1987).
